Minimal Violence: Night Gym Vinyl 12"
VANCOUVER HARDWARE TECHNO DUO STEP UP WITH THEIR 1080P DEBUT "NIGHT GYM". The British Columbia scene has been on a steady ascent the past half-decade or so with their own brand of blunted, bloodshot-eyed house. Ashlee Luk & Lida P. throw a wrench in the gears with their latest 12-inch as Minimal Violence: jacking 707 beats bordering on Drexciyan electro (“Houses”), cavernous industrial throb (the title track) and blown-out vocal refrains equal parts Adonis and Front 242 are all on offer here. Ashlee & Lida weave that into a bed of lush pads and funky synth bass that we’ve come to expect from a Vancouver house record, but never before has one sounded this dangerous. Recommended.
- fold-out poster insert
- music label: 1080p 2016
