Roche: Auragan EP

Roche: Auragan EP

San Francisco based Roche has a penchant for classic house as viewed through his own abstract perspective. With Auragan, his debut on Jamal Moss' Mathematics imprint, he turns in three tracks that are bathed in a subtle purple haze. The opener, "San Quimico," seems to be generating the most heat. Its a combination of percolating synthesizers, vocal chops and half time percussion that slowly evolves into a cosmic house burner. On the flip we are treated to two tracks that seem to wholeheartedly embody the Mathematics spirit. "Lftl Eternal" offers up a circular percussion loop that is buoyed by an arpeggiated bass line and solid drum machine work. The EP closes with the title track's warm organ chords which set the stage for an uplifting sunrise excursion. Recommended.
