The Cramps: Songs The Lord Taught Us (200g) Vinyl LP
Debut full length from The Cramps back on wax! The good folks at Drastic Plastic have gone ahead and repressed this influential psychobilly/punk classic on heavyweight 200 gram(!) vinyl, complete with a fresh remaster by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio. Originally released in 1980, Songs The Lord Taught Us is the first proper album by The Cramps (following 1979's 5 track EP Gravest Hits) giving us a full dose of that rockabilly-punk-garage rock fusion. This particular album would be a crucial step in the development of the psychobilly style (especially Lux Interior's howling on "Garbage Man") and also includes the rockin' energy of "I Was A Teenage Werewolf," the low key creep of "Fever," the raucous "Sunglasses After Dark," and many more. Even if you own an original, you'd be hard pressed to find a better sounding copy to rock out to. Limited edition of 1,500 with individually numbered jackets, housed in protective plastic sleeve. This is the version to own.
